The installation "Where Does the Martian President Live?" offers a curious interpretation of why did the U.S. president cancel his predecessor’s advanced space programmes for manned missions, substituting them with unrealistic promises that humans would walk on Mars in unspecified future, a project that would be carried out not by NASA but by private subcontractors. What at first sounds like the loss of years-long efforts and investments is perhaps a secret plot of humanoid Martians living on Earth for thwarting humankind’s attempts at setting foot on their planet. Using special technology, the author shows the true face of the U.S. president during his speech at the Kennedy Space Center, a little while after laying off thousands of rocket scientists and engineers who used to make up the core of the U.S. manned space programme.
